Talk Without Borders

Talk Without Borders (TWB) creates welcoming spaces where international and domestic students can connect through conversation and shared experiences. TWB programs celebrate global perspectives, encourage cultural exchange, and help build friendships across campus. From casual meet-ups to themed events, each gathering is designed to spark meaningful dialogue and broaden horizons.

Weekly Meet-Ups

Join us every Wednesday and Friday from 12–3pm in the Mueller Center Lobby. These drop-in gatherings are open to everyone and offer a relaxed space to connect, chat, and meet new people.

To get connected or learn more, contact Donna Sutton at suttoa@rpi.edu.

Our Programs

In addition to weekly meet-ups, Talk Without Borders supports and runs a variety of programs across campus.

Campus Thrift Store

The RPI Campus Thrift Store offers students an affordable and sustainable way to shop for clothing and other essentials right on campus. Open to all students, the thrift store helps promote reuse while making everyday items more accessible. Donations are always welcome and can be dropped off with Donna Sutton in the Mueller Center Lobby.

Location: Mueller Center Lobby
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 9am–1pm

Nature Network

Nature Network is a group of students who maintain a community garden on campus. The program offers opportunities to learn about gardening, spend time outdoors, and engage in a de-stressing activity while supporting the campus community.

The garden is currently closed for the winter. Questions about Nature Network can be directed to Donna Sutton at suttoa@rpi.edu.

Free Panera Bread Program

RPI's on-campus Panera Bread partners with Talk Without Borders to provide day-old bread free to students. Bread is available daily in the Mueller Center Lobby. Anyone is welcome to stop by and take what they need.

Free Library

The Free Library features bookshelves located in the Mueller Center Lobby with free books available to anyone. Visitors are welcome to browse the shelves and take any books that interest them.

Book donations are welcome and can be dropped off with Donna Sutton in the Mueller Center Lobby.
